TRAVEL GUIDES FROM MY TRIPS

ISLE OF SKYE

  • When we went - June 2022
  • Where we stayed - Campervan which was from @clyde_motorhome_hire on Instagram- We stayed at Glenbrittle Campsite first night (didn't need to book) and then Portree Campsite with electric hook-up the 2nd night.
  • Where we ate - Nowhere fancy and just on the go but special mention to @Pizza_in_the_skye on Instagram it was delish!
  • What we done _We visited Portree, Coral Beach (wow) The Fairy Pool, Neist Point, Eilean Donan Castle, Fairy Glen, Dunvegan Castle,
  • Would we change anything - I recommend going for longer as there is so much to see. I would have loved to explore a little further and done the NC500 route. We booked this last minute, and it was Bank holiday weekend, I wish we had been a little more organised and had got a campsite booked for the first night as we found the one that was just turn up with no booking, however it was a little stressful as peoples vans were just parked everywhere and as we didn't arrive until after 5 it meant that there was no electric hook-up and we had to use the communal showers.
  • Top Tip - Take Avon skin so soft spray for the midges and also take sliders or flip flops for in the showers. Take Snacks as some of these camp sites don't have eating facilities and be prepared to have no signal as some are so remote there is no Wi-Fi signal. Take a book or an iPad with downloaded podcasts or programmes.

Dublin

  • When we went - August 2022
  • Where we stayed - The Conrad Dublin
  • How much we saved via the programme- £294
  • Where we ate - The Ivy Dublin and a local Italian Restaurant
  • What we done _ We went out to Temple bar the Friday night and danced and drank, Saturday we attended the Roxie Nafousi Manifestation workshop which was brilliant, and we took so much from it.  Saturday evening, we went out to The Ivy for dinner (prebooked this) and then went for drinks to Zozimus
  • Transport - We took the bus that sits outside the terminal and purchased a return fare it was £19 for 2 returns

TENERIFE

  • When we went - August 2022 - 4 Nights
  • Where we stayed - Spring Bitacora - Playa De Las Americas
  • How much we saved via the programme- £680
  • Where we ate - Biancos, Pai Thai ( recommened to book online)
  • What we done _ Pretty relaxing holiday, with walks along the beach, sunbathing. we hired Scooters and explored the Island. We went to see Billy Porter the Comedian and on the last night I had arranged Boom Trikes Sunset Motorbike tour up Mount Teide. This was one of the best things I have ever done  on my travels. The company can be found on Instagram @boom_trikes_tenerife
  • Transport - No need to book transfers they are often costly, and a taxi is 25 euros each way and there is always lots available outside the terminal. There is also a local bus that you can take outside the terminal that takes you to Los Cristianos bus terminal and then you can take a taxi to Las Americas if you are staying there.
  • Would we change anything - Absolutely not - Tenerife is one my happy places. We love it here and there is always plenty to do.
  • Places we never went but recommend - Kaluna Beach Club, Siam Water Park, Bombay Blue Indian- Adeje,

MADRID

  • When we went - July 2022
  • Where we stayed - Circulo Gran Via
  • How much we saved via the programme- £485
  • Where we ate - Bel Mondo (Tik Tok Famous) Zenith Brunch for Pancakes,
  • What we done _Hired a boat in Retiro Park, hired scooters and explored Madrid, Visited Royal Palace, Went to the San Miguel Market and The Food court on the ground floor of the Four Seasons. Went to the 360 Sky bar at the top of the Riu Plaza, this is very busy and long que times at night. We went back one afternoon and walked straight in. There is a charge to enter and its expensive for food and drinks however we found this experience worth it. Madrid has one of the largest Primark and i had to go in for a look. they literally had every size and style possible.
  • Would we change anything - Madrid sits high up therefore it gets extremely hot in the summer months. It was 41 degrees at one point and the Parks were shut. I would not visit again in July and opt for a month that was slightly cooler. As it was a city break it was uncomfortable walking about in the heat. Ladies and Gents, I recommend some sort of Liquid talc.
  • We bought bus tour tickets which personally I would not do again instead use the Scooters you can see so much more of Madrid this way and you can buy a day pass which is 10 x 30 mins rides for under 10 euros.
  • Transport - we did not hire a transfer and opted for public transport. The public metro system is very good and easy to access in Madrid, straight from the airport to Gran Via the main area in Madrid

MANCHESTER

  • When we went - Manchester October 2022
  • Where we stayed - Ibis Styles, Portland Road
  • How much we saved via the programme- £134
  • Where we ate - Pizza Express and San Carlo. Downloaded the Pizza Express app and got free Dough balls. This is not limited to 1 per table so we all ordered one. The Girls purchased the Pret Subscription for the month at £12.50. This entitled them to 5 free drinks per day. Even a couple of coffees over the weekend would have exceeded the one-off monthly cost of £12.50
  • What we done -Attended our Travel conference
  • Transport - We travelled by Train and as there was a few of us we bought 2 for 1 Railcard and shared rooms to keep costs down. The Train ticket was an open return off peak meaning we could travel home when we wanted.

Marbella

Long weekend in Marbella - Girls Trip

  • When we went -
  • Where we stayed - Sol Marbella Estepona Park
  • How much we saved via the programme- £300
  • Where we ate - Piccasos (Puerto Banus) La Sala (Puerto Banus) La Pappadrella  ( Puerto Banus)for sexy Pasta - This was insane, Mr Noodles at 2am after we left La Sala, the spring rolls are incredible.
  • Where we drank - La Sala and Babalonia both Puerto Banus
  • What we done _ Sunbathed and chilled and partied and ate in the evening.
  • Top Tip- Our hotel was 15 min away from Puerto Banus where we wanted to spend most of our time therefore, we had to get taxis most of the time and taxis are expensive. We used UBER for most of the fares. The Hotel was nice however i would not choose to stay there again due to location.
  • Transport - Marbella is approx 1 hour away from the airport therefore we had prearranged transfers. The total cost was £135 return trip.
